NFL star LeSean McCoy accused of leaving his ex-girlfriend bloodied and beaten in viral Instagram photo
NFL player LeSean “Shady” McCoy has been charged with the violent attack on his ex-girlfriend.
A horrific photo of the player’s former Delicia Cordon went viral on social media on Tuesday. In the photo obtained by PEOPLE, the designer is covered in blood, lying on a hospital bed.
In a statement to PEOPLE, the law firm representing Cordon said she was attacked at around 3 a.m. Tuesday while she was sleeping at her Georgia home where the football star lives. The two are currently separated.
“Ms. Cordon was physically assaulted in the home by a male attacker who entered the home with no signs of forcible entry,” the statement said.
According to the company, the man allegedly demanded some specific jewelry, and when he was unable to remove the bracelet from her wrist, he whipped her multiple times with a pistol, and her cousin was also hit.
“Ms. Corden suffered multiple injuries to the head, face and arms during this horrific attack,” the statement continued.

“I can’t believe you did this to my best friend! Your karma will become so real!” Boykin wrote in the post, which has since been deleted. “The world needs to know what type of animal you are! It was just her on the left yesterday, and now it’s her on the right this morning!”
Boykin also accused Buffalo Bills running back McCoy of beating his dog and trying to “viciously” beat his young son.
“We didn’t say how you beat your dog ‘Henny’ into kidney failure,” the message continued. “Let’s not talk about all the times my best friend had to stop you viciously beating your son for something as small as peeing in bed. We’re silent about your drug use.”
McCoy has vehemently denied the allegations against him. Representatives for McCoy did not respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.

“I solemnly declare that the completely baseless and offensive allegations made against me are completely false,” McCoy wrote on Instagram. “Furthermore, I have not had any direct contact with anyone involved in this case for several months. “

Another social media user who identified himself as a friend of Cordon’s claimed that the NFL player sent armed men to McCoy’s house.
Cordon’s lawyers said an armed man had targeted jewelry her estranged partner had given to their clients. The company also claims that the NFL star recently changed the home’s security system.

The Milton Police Department confirmed they were investigating the break-in at the home.
“Preliminary investigations indicate that the residence was targeted by a suspect or suspects, rather than a random incident,” the Milton Police Department said in a statement obtained by Yahoo Sports.
“When the police arrived, they found one victim being beaten by a lone intruder. During the altercation, the suspect asked the victim for specific items.
“An adult female victim was treated and discharged from North Fulton Regional Hospital. A second adult female victim also suffered minor injuries during the incident,” the statement said, without naming Corden as a victim.
