Dr Adib is a general practitioner specialising in laparoscopic, gastrointestinal and bariatric surgery. He has a special interest in advanced laparoscopic surgery, upper gastrointestinal surgery and hepatobiliary surgery.

Dr Adib started his surgical career at the Royal Brisbane Hospital in 1994 as a surgical trainee. In 1996 he was elected to the Advanced Surgical Training Program and in 2000 he became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons. After a year in England, he was accepted as an International Fellow at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, Scotland’s largest centre for hepatobiliary, pancreatic and upper gastrointestinal disease.

Dr Adib is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, the oldest surgical school in the world. In 2004, Dr Adib returned to Brisbane to start laparoscopic gastrointestinal and bariatric surgery in private practice. In 2006, he established the Brisbane Obesity Clinic. Dr Adib is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Bariatric Surgeons, the International Hepatobiliary Society, the British Society of Upper Gastrointestinal Surgeons and the European Society of Endoscopic Surgeons.
