35-year-old offspring of Gil Gerard and Connie Sellecca, Gilbert Vincent “Gib” Gerard
I saw him on some infomercials recently with his mom and stepdad John Tesh. I’ve never heard of him before, but unlike the Willis Sisters, he looks like he’s won the genetic lottery!

Ha ha! I don’t think you’re in the 80s.

Gil Gerard swells to 350 pounds. Then gastric bypass surgery was performed.
Hope this is not my son’s future.

Why did Jill and Connie’s marriage fall apart?

Never realized Connie looked like a very nice version of SJP.

His hair was sparse like Dad’s. It’s well placed to look effortless, but it hides a receding hairline.

Whose nose does he have? What did Connie’s original nose look like?

Isn’t Sellecca and Tesh a hardcore fund now?

I vaguely remember reading that Gilgerard had weight issues before Buck Rogers, or was a heavy kid or something…

No, he did not. He was a plain, ordinary-looking white man.

I must have been in the 80s or so and I forgot they used to be a couple. Son is the epitome of average.

From Wikipedia on popular music:
[quote] Gerald was hired as an industrial chemist, and within a few years of starting his job, he became the regional manager of a large chemical company led by Governor Winthrop Rockefeller. Gerrard’s employers said they would have made him vice president of the company if he pursued a master’s degree, so he resigned instead of explaining that he didn’t have a college degree.

According to this linked article, Jill has cocaine and alcohol (and apparent binge eating) problems. He also had a bitter custody battle with Connie over Gib.
[quote] After his divorce from Sellecca, Gerald lived on his own, often eating double Kung Pao chicken and fried rice, ice cream per gallon and dozens of Mrs Field’s white chocolate and macadamia biscuits.

Blue eyes look better on his mom. They just look creepy on him. Overall, I’m not impressed, but DLers are courting him because he’s white.

Sellecca and Tesh are indeed funds. A cousin of mine (also a foundation) worked for them about 15 years ago. He said John was fine but Connie was a “c-word” – which led to his resignation. I don’t think my cousin even knew the c-word existed.

what is the c word? grace?

Even when she’s on The Greatest American Hero, she comes across as a smug bitch.

Connie Sellecca divorced Gil Gerard because of his cocaine addiction.

Sellecca is beautiful, but her rumored bad attitude and amazing acting talent doom her to acting smart.

Speaking of Jill, “Buck Rogers” is yet another TV show that completely disappeared from the face of the earth after its network run ended. The same goes for his other show, “The Scarecrow and Mrs. Kim.”

It’s a shame to be an actor and just be called “Buck Rogers”.

Lee Boxleitner in The Scarecrow and Lady King.

R36 is actually Bruce Boxleitner… Character name is Lee Stetson aka Scarecrow.
While IMDB’ing this thing (don’t remember the Scarecrow’s Gil), I was surprised to find that Buck Rogers was apparently an unfortunate investment project to recycle sets/props/costumes for Battlestar Galactica.

The son is a handsome man. I really liked Jill Gerrard who played Buck Rogers in high school. The leggings he was wearing were the stuff of many people’s dreams. Both he and Robert Ulrich are handsome men with good builds…no such shaved, over-toned nonsense today.

I remember a TV critic complaining that Jill Gerrard was so fat he looked like a stuffed Polish sausage in his silver space suit.

You’d think MeTV would have dug it up by now. In fact, this would make a nice change to their Sci-Fi Saturday Night so they could give Wonder Woman, Star Trek, and Lost in Space a break.

I agree with you about Connie Sellecca, r33. She doesn’t think her stuff stinks. Connie really thought she was sexy, but soon discovered she wasn’t.

R44, if that’s the case, the “America’s Greatest Hero” series must have been interesting considering how big of a jerk William Katt was being reported back then.

I think Gill was very hot in the 1980s. Son is not bad. He looks better in the OP’s photo than in the R14.

R43 Buck Rogers has only aired 37 episodes, normally 100 episodes are required for a show to qualify for syndication, and 88 episodes is considered the absolute minimum.

R45…..In various interviews, both William Carter and Robert Culp admitted to being unable to stand each other while filming the GAH 2-hour pilot. Then, halfway through production, they revealed their differences in a trailer for Culp. Not just for peaceful coexistence for the rest of the test shoot, but if it turns into a series – they’ll be together for more than 6 weeks (or whatever), so they need to get along! They claim to have been good friends since then (until Culp’s death).
As for Connie Seleka… both Kate and Culp talk passionately about her. Both said she had a great sense of humor. Culp said she told some dirty jokes early in the morning while doing her hair/makeup. I know they want to sell DVDs, so of course they don’t call Connie a bitch. Still, 10 years after GAH ended, William Carter attended her wedding to John Tesh. So obviously, they are friends.

[quote] Why did Jill and Connie’s marriage fall apart?
Not long after, she was on a talk show, and when asked why her marriage broke up, she answered blankly: “Because he’s fat!”
What a bitch.

What R48 says is usually true (100 episodes), but… GREATEST AMERICAN HERO (44 episodes) is currently airing on Heroes & Idols, Saturday morning.
